I was 11 weeks pregnant this week. I miscarried the 26th. I went to the ER. My baby stop growing at 8 weeks and 3 days. I took the ear drops march 2 2014, which was 3 weeks ago. That's when my baby stopped growing. I looked up and the FDA hasn't approved that it's healthy or that it might be safe for women who are pregnant. Should I be concerned? ## Very sorry to hear about your miscarriage. For future reference: "Benzocaine topical has been assigned to pregnancy category C by the FDA. Animal studies have not been reported. There are no controlled data in human pregnancy. Benzocaine topical is only recommended for use during pregnancy when benefit outweighs risk." [1]

Hello, my son was prescribed Antipyrine-benzocaine war drops in 2/2015. I had it put away sealed tight I poured some in my hand to check for any discoloration and looks clear as the first day we use. He is complaining of ear pain and I was just wondering if I can still use these drops since the expiration date is for 10/2016 which is this month? ## Hello, Tita! How are you? This is not actually an antibiotic, both of the medications it contains are used to alleviate pain and inflammation. If he has an ear infection, he will need an antibiotic, in addition to these drops. The FDA warns that the side effects of such drops may include dizziness, headache, ear stuffiness, and drainage. Is there anything else I can help with?

Mistakely put eardrop into my mothers eyes. Wanting to know what is some of the problems she may have . ## Hello, Yoyo! How is she? Did she suffer any adverse effects? Likely nothing will happen, other than some irritation, but since they aren't sterile, there is a risk of them causing an infection. Signs of that in the eye, as listed by the NIH, may include redness, swelling, discharge and excess tearing. She should report it to her doctor, so they can check for any possible issues. Does this medication cause numbness to your face? ## Hi Rosa, If you are experiencing numbness or itching/swelling (especially of the face/tongue/throat), then it is 'very likely' due to an allergic reaction of the medication itself. Also, Benzocaine, one of the main ingredients in this solution, is an anesthetic that helps to numb the pain. Is it possible that you may have used too much and got too much of a numbness effect by doing so? If you haven't already done so, I think it may be a good idea to consider contacting your doctor about switching medications or opting for a more natural alternative to this one, if the side effects become too bothersome or severe. I hope this helps! ## My ear is like bombt a thing a can't hear nothin my mom says its air inside my ear ca...

anesthetic cream ## I use Orasol the cheapo Walmart brand of Orajel or Ambasol & it has 20% Benzocaine, & I just had a drug test yesterday, it was a Instant urine drug test & I came up Positive for Cocaine & I HAVEN'T touched it, been around it, I even threatened to throw my husband out not too long ago cause I found out he was doing it, but there is NO WAY cocaine should be in my system. To even be more honest the last time I even used coke was in February 2011.
