That is the amount of Acetaminophen in them, one has 325mgs and the other has 500mgs.

The amount of it is sometimes different in medications that use it, due to the fact that it enhances the effects of the drugs it is coupled with, so one with a higher dose of it may help more than the one with the lower.

Is there anything else I can help with?

Hi monica,

The meaning of ASA abbreviation is "Aspirin", and the meaning of APAP abbreviation is "Acetaminophen".
That said, the primary difference between these two medications is that the 325mg is Aspirin, while the 500mg is Acetaminophen.

From what I could gather, there aren't many differences between these two medications, but I think there have been some recalls on Tylenol (one of the major brands of Acetaminophen) that have been aired on television recently. Pharmaceutical companies are being warned that they have to lower the dose of Acetaminophen in many of their products, due to the danger's of having too much. That may be something worth looking into.

I think the link below can help shed some light on the differences between Aspirin and Acetaminophen:

I hope this helps!
