Arthrotec Generics

Updated

Will taking diclofenac/misoprostol separately (generics for the drugs in Arthrotec) be as effective as taking them combined as one pill. It will be much less expensive to take 2 generics.

It's possible, but hard to say, have you tried asking your doctor or pharmacist about this?

The Diclofenac is a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory and the Misoprostol is there, really, just to help protect your stomach from the irritation and damage it may cause.

Some of the most common side effects of using this include: nausea, drowsiness, headaches and diarrhea.

You can read more about them here:

Is there anything else I can help you with?

Absolutely not! My insurance company would not pay for the arthrotec75 because the two items could be obtain generically. The seperate pills, diclofenac and misoprostol, caused severe stomache problems, and the misoprostol caused so much flem that I was constantly choking on it. Upon starting the arthrotec 75, I had diarrhea for about a week, but it went away. It still causes some thick flem, but nothing like the misoprostol. I always take this with a meal to avoid the stomache problem possibility as it is a strong, but VERY effective drug.

I should have added that my doctor appealed to the insurance company, and they reviewed the information and granted the appeal. These are not generics that are beneficial. Neither diclofenac or misoprostol were any where in the same catagory as the arthrotec. The diclofenac caused stomach pain and b4 Arthrotec, bleeding. The misoprostol choking and fleem like lose stool. So, if you have to have a strong nasaid, this one seems the gentlest - and safest with a little extra precaution. I cannot even walk without the drug.
