Amoxicillin During Pregnancy

I got poked by a safety pin in my knuckle and it went into my finger pretty deep. I took it out and it immediately was swollen and blackish blue color. It looks like it punctured my vein or something or popped a blood vessel. I have a brand new prescription of amoxicillin, would this help or do you think this will just go away on its own? Also I'm 7 months pregnant, is amoxicillin safe to take with the baby?

Amoxicillin is a class B drug which means it has been studied in animals to 10x what we give to people and no birth defects have been found.

If you were breastfeeding, there would be some crossover as it is present in small amounts in breast milk, but it is one of the safest antibiotics for pregnant women on the market.

However, it will not help with this type of issue. Amoxicillin is an antibiotic and will only help treat bacterial infections.

Additionally, since you are pregnant, you need to speak with your doctor, before you take anything. There are many factors that could affect whether or not something is safe for you and your baby.
