2012 Oxycodone 30mg Shortage In Florida (Page 11)

My spouse, who is in severe, chronic pain, has been a customer of Walgreens for many years. We live in Pinellas County, Florida. Everyday this week we have driven from Walgreen's to Walgreen's trying to fill his prescription for Roxicodone 30mg, to no avail. I cannot get any help from his regular pharmacy. I know that it's dangerous for them to tell a total stranger which store has them in stock, but I don't understand since they know him, why they can't call around or give us any assistance. I am at a total loss as to what to do & would appreciate any information that you could provide. It is so hard to see him in so much pain. Thank you.

Miss karen, I checked oit that website awhile back. It now states no oxycodone shortage revised 6/12. It's not only the dea, its the fda closing the 2 manufacturing plants due to quality issues with medication. Anything to help the diversion of this med. I see some are anle to fill at Walgreen's. Every one I've be to tells me they're no longer carrying S2 drugs. Liars. Ive beentaking morphine ir. 30mg. 5 x's a day to replace the roxycodone 30 mg. 5 x's a day. I'm a freakin zombie and still in a lot of pain. That old saying you don't k.kw what u have until it's gone couldn't be more true the last 2 months. Quality of life is less and it's getting harder and harder to hide my pain and tiredness. Idk wtf to do anymore.

You're lucky inagony. All the Walgreen's in this area aren't filling s2's. My Walgreen's I've gone to for 2 yrs knows my Dr and I have insurance and in the 2 yrs I used them, I never filled early and followed all the rules. They suck and don't care. I hope you won't go thru hell next time. Same bs with cvs. 3 different stores told me they don't carry s2's anymore. Trust me, I'm over 50, dress nicely and am always polite. I haven't even tried to fill at either chain last month. I'm glad u got yours, but it's not fair one person can get them filled and the majority of us can't and continue to suffer.

they won't fill any schedule 2 drugs on line or mail from the state of fl that is where i got them for longest time' i am disable and drove everywhere can"t find them. this is crazy

Hi again, This is so a bunch of crap. I have been dealing with the oppisite for two years, here in sunny my butt California, cant find a doctor to give an opiate, and im allergic to everything, the doctor i had had me come in after 2 years of NOT seeing me and raped me of 9 meds I take all but 4 daily. Put me into adrenial Crisis, and then my hair begain to fall out (Thyroid), red flagged me at E.R. and went there they call me a pill seacher and i dont go to E.R. ever , I went to see the pharmisist she says im flagged from there to other end of NO where... I went a year scraping meds off the street, at 4 to 6 bucks a pop for norco. Then i got my olderst doctor back gives me HELL everytime im there. Had shingles he wanted to remove my norco says it lowers immune, my butt.
I cant beleive what this United States is doing to those in severe to moderate pain, tossing 5's like a Sit and beg bisquit, and if one can they do grab heroin for releif. Is insane. A whole new war. Now what to do, I was told go to the medical board, nope for the doctors n pharmisists, then the FDA, my friend used to work there she says nope no good, so who is this we have to say things to or a picket or something, i beleive yes a huge med issue with some then the some who dont well are having them, as 3 days on a cycle of this opiate your hooked so to speak n will and do withdrawl. Gotta love the human world...... Whatever.... Just sayin.....

You guys are going to love this, my regular pharmacist told me today that over the last few months people from as far as Kentucky have been coming in trying to fill their scripts!! To combat the situation they just started telling everyone they are out except theirq regular patients who really need it, & that pharmacy
Hoppers are frowned upon. He also said there is no law or policy that prohibits a pharmacy from filling out of town scripts or from holding scripts for patients until medication becomes available. These pharmacies are making it up as they go along & should be regulated by an independent 3rd party to insure that they are not violating peoples rights by behaving unethically, all the while doing more harm than good....

My husbands godaughter works at wal-mart pharmacy has been in the pharmacy dept. since she was 17 and now 28, she gave me a number to report California pharmacies and she can I'm sure get the number for other states Maybe is a wide 800 number or something for this. As for daYmn skippy these guys cant do things they do. My doctor gives me not a REfill but a NEW script every month and puts may fill today. They at rite-ade say no cant do and try to keep the scripts there ( im a bit verbal) and made her give the script back. The pharmacy asst, that did this as well has turned in so many people stating they are selling pills and such with no proof and they are telling those customers here that they are not getting filled there because "and state loud" the reason. So isnt this a Dafamatory remark. huge laws in ca. state this is worst sometime then battery and other crimes, and these people are doing this, or your right @ 94brown they are making it up as they go. I think they figure they will be able to get away with things as the doctors falsafying U.A tests etc.... They have huge paper work now for Opiates and they dont want the trouble wal-mart seems to be the only ones not raising prices n not messing with those laws."THAT I have found"
And since when does the pharmacy have the right to tell in their minds who is in more need of pain releif then another. And why because of the clothes they wear make this a reason, I garden for a living and am full of dirt by afternoon and go to the store on a whim to get my meds, It's called MONEY that dirt on me and I dont care how i';m dressed
I will get these numbers up here may be I will see my god daughter sometime tonite n get all th info to report these people we need to be writing this stuff n such to the people that can do something, Im sick of this what they try to do. If enough people tell their story and BOMBARD them with letters etc. calls we should soon get a turn around, is woth the try, and Im just saying Is only for our own benifits, I will be back I do my best for tonite I know some or all of us are in need and in pain, this must stop!!!!!good luck u guys feel better. Its " Fight for FL pain action care network". Ratliff, Donna friend request her in FB. We have a lot of info there of what's going on, and how we will succeed with being heard. We are being denied our basic right to pain control. We can do nothing but complain, and then "they" win,or we can fight for our rights.

I was looking into the where abouts to make formal complaints and I ran across this little diddy from a pharmasist, It wont let me post i have to registar etc,... doubt thats gona happen it says not to be rude...Really Read the LAST LINE!!!!! Im pist. SO they (speaking of the addict) have a certian look and really sick peeps have that as well. SO what about just one whom is used to living the whole life n pain smile grin or bare it. The chick is to much Im fumin.... Example of a MORAN!!!!!
okay fine it wont allow me to cut to paste, so she goes on to say that they dont mind recounting pills and that customers need to present the stuation better for a result... okay, then she say we know who the addicts are n who is sick. So this is the thing Morans like her is what started this s***. Sorry however is the truth, if were not for the fact that they want to label anyone on an opiate thats like over 20 n over 60 ..... so the rest are addicts i suppose. I have had severe pain and never knew about opiates and then found they were the ticket im now 52, i what a few good years left. My body my business if i want to take them and factly if you take more then a week body dependant bad. Mentally after a month. Why would noone be able to let euphorea take hold seeing years of pain stopped most smiles, Is noones business to judge anyone, im not the godly person but i do beleive the right to judge is not anyones but he who holds that body. Call me what you will I get sick with no meds, i been on them for 12 years, does not mean im an addict, i take when i want to take period...If im not in pain the taking is fioolish as when in severe pain i cant get them i dont waste, Gosh I hate ignorance....Just wanted to share that... by the way hello I read all your comments and i feel for you guys, in florida i mean. I dont think any of this is fair...

I went for my monthly visit to my pain specialist today, found out some info, to put rumors I heard about to rest....it's not good for pain patients....my Dr. Will not be writing any more scripts for oxys, or dilaudids. Drug companies will stop making both meds. In the near future...he wrote for opanas 10mg., is equivalent to 30mg. Oxys. They are super expensive, I have only tried two so far....waaaay better than morphine ir is all I can say so far....and I was only able to fill them because I'm a small pharmacy regular, and was told to try to take the least amount I can get by with for the month, because they may be hard to find month to month, ....my co-pay was fifty $$....

Miss Karen, I found them last month at a small pharmacy too. I'm the one who was prescribed 150 10 mg, and pharmacist would only fill 90. The ir's come in generic.(roxane) With insurance cost me $58.00 for 90. They work like you said, much better than morphine. I called the pharmacist who filled the opana last month, and I he said call me before your Dr s appt. I stopped there instead, and I told him I had a hard time with the 90,and could he at least fill 100-120 so after whispers, he tells me he doesn't have them. Liar. I got morphine this month and they're terrible. I will ask.Dr next week for opana again, bc 90 of those work alot better than 150 morphine 30 mg. Ir's. God bless and thanks for the info

Panicnpain....he is such a liar! I got an RX for 180 10 mg., no questions or comments....I'm sick of some of the pharmacists I've heard about on this forum....also, your Dr. Could get a little more with the program...just keep trying to find someone to let you fill what your Dr. Orders, It's no wonder so many people are not getting adequate pain management, or are running out of their meds. Earlier than they should have to...there's got to be some kind of rights for people suffering!!

my fiance is disabled and with spinal cord and nerve damage, plus his cocyx bone grew back backwards and he is in sever pain all the time since 2000. They just cut his meds in less than half, so he went from 240 oxy and 360 methadone, to 180 of each, and we cant even get the oxy anywhere. He tried the morphine and sleeps 24/7. This is awful. Isnt it bad enough his life is ruined and he already wants to throw himself down the stairs so he would be paralized and out of pain or kill himself if he wasnt so scared? Who are these people to tell us what meds our sick loved ones should take? The are NOT doctors and have NO idea what the injuries are. I think we need to get together and picket. I really think we do or nothing is going to change...the news needs to know how walgreens has treated a customer that they have enjoyed thousands and thousands of dollars from medicare over the last 12 years and now treat him like some sub human. I will lose my job driving around trying to find the meds he needs. I live in pinellas county if anyone knows where to get it, please let me know....

Why was his meds cut in half? I would start looking for a good pain Dr. I wish I knew where he could get his meds., I couldn't find my oxycodone 30mg. Any more, that's how I ended up on forum ....I am lucky enough to have a Dr willing to try me on different meds. Though, he stopped writing for oxys., because people can't find them, but was having him writing scripts anyways, then being bombarded with frantic calls from people wanting different meds, 'cause they can't find oxys....my Dr states they will not be making oxys or dilaudeds in the future....time to start experimenting with other drugs that might be easier to find....I hate hearing about people being in pain, it cripples the soul for sure...
